Make it your own

A few small details. A chart that feels like you.

What is a pie chart?

A pie chart is a circular graph divided into slices. Each slice represents a category’s share of a total, and the complete circle represents 100%. Larger values create larger slices, making proportions easy to understand at a glance.

Use this free pie chart generator to visualize budgets, survey responses, market share, or time allocation. Enter raw values and the pie chart creator calculates percentages automatically: slice percentage = value ÷ total × 100.

A few tips for a clearer pie chart

Keep the number of slices small

Aim for two to six categories. Group tiny slices as Other so readers can see the main story.

Use parts of the same whole

Categories should be mutually exclusive and belong to one total. Avoid negative values.

Make labels easy to read

Use short category names and contrasting colors. Hover a slice to see its full name, value, and percentage.

Choose the right chart for your data

Use a pie chart for proportions, a bar graph for close comparisons, and a line graph for trends over time.
